MIKE BEDENBAUGH’S FULL STATEMENT
As America approaches the 250th anniversary of our Declaration of Independence, we face a choice worthy of the moment.
When the People’s House is divided by factions, when citizens’ voices are drowned out by corporate monopolies, and when liberty is threatened by collusion between the two corporatized ideologically based parties who’s constituencies are reduced to Donor lists, it becomes the duty of free citizens to rise and restore balance.
We therefore declare that the upcoming anniversary must not be only a commemoration of the past, but a call to the future. By the midterm elections of 2026, we must be prepared to elevate the best among us — leaders of character and principle — to stand firm in the breach and reclaim the Republic.
WE AFFIRM THESE TRUTHS:
- That representatives exist to serve citizens, not themselves.
- That liberty belongs to natural persons, not artificial corporate entities.
- That power must be dispersed — between states and Washington DC, between citizens and government, between communities and corporations.
- That war is not the business of empire, but the solemn duty of defense.
- That fiscal responsibility is a trust we hold for generations yet unborn.
To secure these principles, we aspire for a Fulcrum Caucus — not limited to newcomers, but made up of both new representatives elected by citizens hungry for change and independent-minded members already serving in Congress who are seeking partners to deliver real solutions. Like the Minutemen of 1776, these men and women will answer the call of citizenship and stand in the breach. Even a small caucus, 10 to 20 strong, can hold the balance of power, restrain the duopoly, and restore the Republic to health. This is not a moment for dispair, but for resolve. Our history proves that when good people rise, tyranny falters, and liberty endures. We have done it before. We will do it again.
Project 2026 is our chance — not only to celebrate the founding, but to renew it.
What Project 2026 Aims to Achieve
With the reforms outlined in Reviving Our Republic, a rebalanced House of Representatives would deliver structural change that restores accountability to the people.
AMOUNG THESE GOALS:
- Term limits: Break the cycle of career politicians by ensuring regular turnover and fresh leadership.
- Personhood clarified: Draw a firm constitutional line between natural citizens and artificial corporate “persons,” so that human voices — not corporate money — shape our laws.
- Curbing corporate monopolies: Break up concentrated power in media, healthcare, and finance to restore free markets and protect citizens from economic domination.
- Reining in the military-industrial complex: Phase out endless overseas deployments, restore constitutional limits on war powers, and ensure America’s strength serves defense, not perpetual war.
- Restoring fiscal responsibility: Return discipline to federal spending and safeguard future generations from crushing debt.
- Rebalancing federalism: Empower states and communities to handle issues closest to home, reducing dependence on Washington’s one-size-fits-all mandates.
The goal is not to increase division, but to reduce the number of enemies and multiply the number of friends — at home and abroad. Project 2026 calls Americans to reclaim the People’s House as a place we can once again be proud of: not as an arena of faction and fear, but as a chamber of unity, virtue, and lasting accomplishment.
A Hopeful Future
And there is every reason to hope. Time and again in our history, when the Republic has been tested — whether in revolution, civil war, depression, or world war — good people rose up, took responsibility as citizens, and pulled the nation through.
We have done it before.
We will do it again.
Now it is our turn. On the 250th anniversary of our Declaration of Independence, let us declare once more — this time our independence from corporate dominance, political collusion, and authoritarian control.
